High priority today if you want to do short term rentals (less than 30 days) in 2022 in the City of Aspen for non lodging properties, based on last night’s council meeting, there are 3 steps that need to happen today before 5pm.
-Owners must have a 2021 business license (apply/paid)
-Owners must have applied for a 2022 business license (apply/paid)
-Owners must apply for a vacation rental permit (permit must be submitted, and all applicable areas filled in)

This is a fluid situation. Tonight is an emergency meeting related to Ordinance 27 which will affect Ordinance 26. These dates/deadlines may change tomorrow, but we’re sharing what we have to the best of our ability and will continue to keep you abreast of any updates.

Each property owner who rents a property in the City of Aspen, for any length of time, must have a business license.
In addition, if a property owner rents for less than 30 days, they must also have a Vacation Rental Permit.
