Where is the Aspen Real Estate Market Today?

Chris Klug - Tuesday, February 21, 2012

I hope you had a fun President's Day Holiday and are celebrating Mardi Gras today! We received seven inches of snow on Aspen Mountain Sunday night, and another inch last night. The skiing and riding conditions are awesome, which is making everyone happy here. Missy, Bali and I headed over to Snowmass Sunday night for the Bud-Light Hi-Fi Concert Series featuring "Motet." It was a fun show!    READ MORE >>

Winter X Games 2012 Kicks off Today in Aspen!

Chris Klug - Thursday, January 26, 2012

Happy Winter X Games! Aspen is once again full with X Games athletes, media, industry friends, and visitors. It is so exciting to drive by Buttermilk Mountain at night the past days and see it light up with athletes training and preparing for action starting today. I was at Buttermilk this morning helping set-up our Chris Klug Foundation booth in the Team ESPN Tent in the sponsors village. Last year we spoke directly with seven thousand people about organ donation and passed out lime green Donor Dudes sunglasses and swag. Stop by our booth this year to check out the Donor Dude. Our friend Greg Lipp created an interactive Donor Dude to promote organ donation.   READ MORE >>

Snowmass Real Estate Caravan Highlights

Chris Klug - Wednesday, January 04, 2012

I did the Snowmass Village Real Estate Caravan today. I saw a few things that I liked. I previewed two listings at Season's 4 which is located on Lower Woodbridge Rd., just across the street from Snowmass. There are currently nine listings at Season's Four from $399,000 to $825,000. Season's 4 Unit 126 is a nicely remodeled two bedroom, two bath, 994 square foot unit with vaulted ceilings, views of Snowmass Mtn. with good southern exposure and a large upstairs loft master for $399,000. It does get some road noise from Brush Creek road. I also liked the Joshua & Co listing, Season's 4 Unit 185. It is also a two bedroom, two bath, 950 square foot unit, completely remodeled in a nice contemporary style. The finishes were beautiful including granite, bamboo floors, custom fire place tile. Even the washer and dryer are high end. This is a short sale! It may take a while to close, but may be worth the wait. Many questions still remain about the future of Base Village Snowmass. I'm convinced it will get completed and when it does it will rule. I don't think anyone knows how long it will take, but it is in the best interest of all parties involved for it to get done sooner than later. You can't have rebar sticking out of the ground like it's Juarez at the base area of the best family ski/board resort in the country. When it gets done I believe there will be upside at Season's 4 and other condominium complexes in the area. When it does get closer to completion you can also bet there won't be two bedrooms listings for under $400,000. No telling when that will be, but if you want a nice two bedroom with pool and jacuzzi on the grounds and walking distance to world class biking, hiking, boarding and skiing in this price range these are two great options.    READ MORE >>

New Year's Aspen Real Estate Highlights

Chris Klug - Tuesday, January 03, 2012

Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed a great holiday. It was a fun one here in Aspen. Nice to see our town full again. We could use some more snow, but Aspen Skiing Co. is doing an awesome job keeping the mountain in good shape. We're a lot better off than most other Colorado Resorts and the rest of the country. Keep doing your snow dance, more will come soon.    READ MORE >>

Missouri Heights Real Estate Highlights

Chris Klug - Saturday, May 21, 2011
The Aspen Board of Realtors Down Valley Tour resumed yesterday with Missouri Heights. It has been a marathon of showings this week. I've seen some great homes in the Roaring Fork Valley and refreshed my down valley knowledge of the mid and down valley markets. There is still a staggering amount of inventory down valley. Missouri Heights consists of the rural area above El Jebel and Carbondale. It is beautiful country with big views and big acreage. There are big and small ranches available, perfect for horse owners and the buyer seeking open space and privacy with easy access to Highway 82.
